What is a cache, and why should I clear it?

The cache is a folder where information from visited Internet pages is stored. This was originally used by Internet browsers to help them load information on a page more quickly. However, web pages may not display correctly because changes have been made and the browser continues to use outdated data from the cache. That's why it's advisable to clear the cache in your Internet browser from time to time.

 

To clear the cache, select your Internet browser and follow the instructions below.

Google Chrome

1. On your computer, open Chrome.
2. At the top right, click More.
3. Click More tools Clear browsing data.
4. At the top, choose a time range. To delete everything, select All time.
5. Next to “Cookies and other site data” and “Cached images and files,” check the boxes.
6. Click Clear data.

 

Mozilla Firefox

1. In the Menu bar at the top of the screen, click Firefox and select Preferences. ...
