If the instrument in question is open for trading, but you still get this message, this means the instrument you have chosen has low liquidity level, i.e. there are very few, if any, trades made with this instrument at the moment, and its price is not changing.

On weekends, as on holidays, the markets are closed, as banks and exchanges don't work. However, you can trade crypto-currencies (they are available for trading around the clock).
